The Seven Deadly Horcruxes: Voldemort as a Mortal Sinner

This lecture examines the Christian theme of redemption as it applies (or fails to apply) to Voldemort. By studying Voldemort in light of Thomas Aquinas's definitions of the Seven Deadly Sins, we can discover why the Dark Lord is an irredeemable character and how, in his failed journey towards immortality, Voldemort effectively condemns himself.
Chelsey Masterson graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in English from Baylor University. She has been a Potter fan since 1999. She is currently seeking her Masters in Library Science, in hopes of becoming an archivist or music librarian.
