The February newsletter is here and with it comes a mighty big announcement, one that we've been working on for quite some time. We're super excited to confirm that our exclusive Infinitus event in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter only at Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure will take place on Friday, July 16! More details will be coming soon about this once-in-a-lifetime experience. But for now, we can tell you that Infinitus attendees will be given access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter after hours and completely to ourselves. You have to be registered to experience this unique opportunity, so click here to register now!
We love sharing news with all of you in anticipation of the excitement this summer and we love it even more when everyone shares in the excitement. If you're someone who loves to blog, tweet, facebook, myspace, plurk, link in, hi5 or even forum surf we would love to have you on the official Public Relations volunteer team dubbed the SQUEE Squad. The mission of the SQUEE Squad is to spread the word about what is going on with Infinitus right now. Working closely with the PR team, you can help spread the excitement about new announcements, special guests, park updates and more. "OMG, did you see that StarKidPotter is going to be at Infinitus? Squee!"
But the SQUEE Squad isn't just limited to the internet. Members of the SQUEE squad attend meetups across the nation together, go to Wizard Rock concerts, and cosplay together, bringing with them excitement for Infinitus. Best of all, the SQUEE Squad is a collaborative effort and we always welcome new ideas and faces. If you've been looking for a way to get involved with Infinitus before the event, this might just be what you've been looking for. To volunteer for the SQUEE Squad all you have to do is contact our Volunteer Chair, Christine Lacy at volunteers@infinitus2010.org.

Park Event

Happy New Year from Infinitus Formal Programming! With a new year, we often find other new things: new ideas, new beginnings, new transitions, and new perspectives. As we step into a new year and a new decade, let’s take some time to try to discover new ideas and to revisit familiar topics with fresh eyes in order to discover new perspectives. World Premiere of "Harvey Putter" at Infinitus
Infinitus guests will be the first to see the long-awaited feature-length Harry Potter film spoof “Harvey Putter and the Ridiculous Premise” starring Bryce Cone, Sunny Christian and Joe Scheibelhut. For fans by fans, the film also features Kiran Shah (“Lord of the Rings”, “Chronicles of Narnia), MuggleNet webmaster Emerson Spartz, and music by Wizard Rock bands such as The Remus Lupins, Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, and Draco and the Malfoys.
The story revolves around celebrity bad boy wizard Harvey Putter, who discovers through his Snogwarts headmaster, Professor Mumblemore, that they are all merely fictitious characters in a best-selling children’s book series. Harvey and his best friends--“poor witch trash” kid Rod Cheesely and bossy Hernia Grunger--are tasked with collecting seven magical books known as “Hortexts” in order to escape the book world before the final chapter.
Pre-orders for the 2-disc DVD will be available online at www.harveyputter.com starting in June 2010, and will also be available for purchase at Infinitus. Please note your Infinitus registration does not include tickets for admission to Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure, which will feature The Wizarding World of Harry Potter; however, Infinitus registrants will be able to purchase such tickets at a discount later this year. Volunteer spotlight – Hedwig
If you took part in or watched Quidditch at all from Lumos to Portus, then you are very familiar with this month’s spotlight volunteer. Hedwig is our Quidditch Coordinator for Infinitus 2010. Whether it’s assembling Quidditch hoops well into the wee hours of the morning or collecting mounds of release forms, Hedwig is there. He is always thinking about his players and doing whatever it takes to keep them safe and happy. He’s the ideal staff member who takes care of everything seemingly without effort. He makes us laugh with his quick humor and inspires us with his energy and dedication. His heart for Quidditch would rival Harry’s any day. We are lucky to have him on the Infinitus team. Thanks Hedwig!
