Salutations!

Welcome to The Infinitum, the exciting and informative newsletter bringing you the latest news and updates concerning HPEF's 2010 symposium, Infinitus. This exciting conference will take place in the Royal Pacific Resort at the Universal Resort in Orlando, FL, home of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It will be an event to remember and we can't wait to share the journey ahead with all of you.

Each edition of the Infinitum will bring with it all of the information you need to get the most out of Infinitus, including programming updates, registration information, interviews, travel info and much more. If you have questions or concerns about Infinitus, please take a moment to read our Frequently Asked Questions or email us.

Our first (and most important) announcement: Registration is open.

Registration is $180.00 until March 31, 2010. It will then increase to $200.00 pending availability. Please note that your registration will include all Formal Programming except Keynote Luncheons (which can be purchased when you register) in addition to:

Please note your Infinitus registration does not include tickets for admission to Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure, which will feature The Wizarding World of Harry Potter; however, Infinitus registrants will be able to purchase such tickets at a discount later this year. Keep your eye on the website for our announcement when Park tickets go on sale.

On a related note, we are thrilled to confirm, per Universal Studios' recent announcement, that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open in Spring 2010, just before Infinitus. This means all the magic will be as new and shiny as a freshly-polished Prefect's badge when we converge on its gates.

In addition to our regular registration we are bringing back the Merlin's Circle Sponsorship. The Merlin's Circle Package for Infinitus includes:

If you've got a group of four you can choose our Merlin's Circle Group Sponsorship giving you four complete Merlin's Circle packages!

Also, in a first for HPEF, we will be having a kid's track at Infinitus for our younger fans aged 5-13. Of course, as usual anyone who has turned 18 as of July 15, 2010, is welcome to attend on their own. Information about the kid's track will be released at a later date, so stay tuned.

In a side note, if you had a professional photo taken with Chris Rankin at Azkatraz your photo is here. And don't forget to check out all the great fun that was had at Azkatraz by visiting the HPEF flickr pool here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hpef

Now, back to the future of HPEF: Infinitus!

Best Regards,

Make your Mark

As with all of HPEF's conferences in the past, Infinitus will be relying heavily on its volunteers. We're looking for people to fill a multitude of roles:

Descriptions of open positions can be found on our website soon and in upcoming editions of The Infinitum. If you'd like to volunteer (it's a great way to meet new people), please send us an email detailing your interests and qualifications, or a resume, to volunteers@infinitus2010.org.

Hotel & Lodging

HPEF is thrilled to announce that Universal Studios Orlando's Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay hotels have agreed to honor the $210 per room price for up to four people in a room at Infinitus 2010; the $245 price at the Hard Rock Hotel is also valid for up to four people in a room.

To make the deal even sweeter, that price is good from July 11 through July 21 for anyone attending any Infinitus 2010 event, as well as their friends and family. Just call Reservations at 866-360-7395, mention that you're coming for Infinitus, and enjoy the rate. If you've already made a reservation, we recommend calling back whenever you have a chance, to make sure you're going to be charged the $210 rate.

And don't forget that there's a 25% discount on suites at all three hotels, and some suites can hold up to five people.

If you stay at the Royal Pacific, the Portofino Bay or the Hard Rock Hotel, you'll be able to enjoy exclusive benefits that Universal provides only to on-site guests. Each room key-card is also your Express Pass; you’ll skip the regular lines at most rides and attractions. It’s the fastest way to ride – enjoy unparalleled access all day long, as often as you’d like, just by showing your hotel room key card at each express entrance. We expect that the Express Pass will work at the three rides in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Even if you just stay one night at one of the Universal hotels, you'll enjoy your Express Pass on both of the days, as it works from the moment you you check in until the parks close on the day you check out.

Infinitus attendees who stay at one of the on-site hotels can also take the complimentary shuttle to nearby SeaWorld Orlando or Wet n' Wild waterpark and charge purchases made in the Parks and at CityWalk to their rooms; priority seating is also available for hotel guests at certain Universal Orlando restaurants.

And don't forget, if you stay at any of the Universal Orlando hotels, you'll help Infinitus meet our room block, and our commitment to the hotel.

We are still working to provide a way for you to make your reservation online, so check back at Infinitus2010.org, our Facebook page at tinyurl.com/InfinitusFB, or our LiveJournal at infinitus2010.livejournal.com, or follow our Twitter at twitter.com/HPEF, for more announcements.

Tempus Tipster Exploring City Walk

Hey there Infinitus fans! I'm Tempus Tipster and I've got some great tips for you to partake in some local excitement during your spare time at Infinitus. If you're planning on coming to the conference a few days early, staying a few more days afterward, or simply need to fill your time in Florida with as much fun as possible, here are some recommendations.

Universal City Walk

So, you've done everything you can possibly do at Infinitus or you've eaten at every hotel restaurant and you want to find out what some Bubba Gump shrimp tastes like? Well, there's a place right up the street that may have something you're looking for. In between the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks there is a congregation of shops, amusements, and dining choices that would be hard to find anywhere else. Strap on your walking shoes and head right over. You'll be glad you did.

Entertainment

(For those 21 and over)

(All ages)

Dining

Full-service restaurants:

An Irish pub, a Latin-themed restaurant, an Italian ristorante, and two sport-themed spots can be found as well. For a quick bite, you may also want to stop at Cinnabon, Burger King, Starbucks, TCBY, or Mexican and Chinese food restaurants.

Shopping

To get to City Walk, just hop on a complimentary shuttle or boat at the hotel and you'll be there before the shrimp runs out! Enjoy!

Volunteer Spotlight

Sarah Price - Food & Beverage Chair

Sarah's first taste of HP con life was back at Portus in 2008. We were lucky and she decided to stick around. We snapped her up soon after for the Infinitus Food and Beverage chair. Her corporate event planning experience made her perfect for the job. Her joyful personality makes her perfect for the Infinitus team. You might have seen her at Azkatraz in her security volunteer t-shirt. I'm not sure she got to wear much else that weekend. She did an amazing job this summer and has great ideas to make all of our tummies happy at Infinitus. Thanks Sarah for being part of the Infinitus team!
